OPINION: MacArthur’s weak attacks against Kim, while he votes to the detriment of the NJ-03rd.

On Wednesday, June 20th, angry protestors were again outside 3rd Congressional Representative MacArthur’s office in Marlton, protesting the six month anniversary of TMac being the only New Jersey politician to sign the Tax Scam Bill. When this government passed the “Tax Reform Law” lawmakers knew that they would also need to replace the income taxes that they had just cut (mostly for the rich and big corporations) by later cutting “entitlements” for the middle class and lower income, such as Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and Food Stamps (SNAP).

According to Market Watch: For the $50,000 to $75,000 range, taxpayers will see an average tax change of only $870/year, less than $17/week. But Millionaires on average will get an extra $69,660 tax break. Those making less than $10,000 will only get an extra $10/year. We are paying for the rich to get their taxes cut by defunding safety net programs for the poor and middle class. NJ is one of the states hit hardest by the tax bill’s elimination of property tax and sales tax deductions, thanks to TMac’s vote.

TMac is also the only NJ politician to vote this week to pass the “Farm Bill”, which will eliminate SNAP (Food Stamp) benefits of about $125/month for many low income people throughout the country, about 35,000 people in New Jersey. Social Security and Medicare, etc are now on the upcoming agenda for cuts.

It was TMac who helped craft the proposal to pass the Health Care restrictions for “Pre-existing Conditions”, allowing health care companies to deny benefits to critically ill patients, with Cancer and Diabetes, affecting about 3.8 million patients in New Jersey. This action earned him the gratitude of President Trump, and Trump’s help with TMac’s’s fundraising, even though he is already the richest millionaire politician in NJ, with reported personal assets of over $30 million. His heartless healthcare vote also earned him the anger of many constituents, and made him too scared to have an open Town Hall in over a year.

TMac also helped to write the bill to allow Concealed Carry Reciprocity (CCR) throughout the country, which has passed the House. MacArthur’s CCR bill would allow anyone to carry a concealed weapon anywhere, including a school zone, if they have a permit from ANY state, even states that issue them online with no background check.

TMac is now attacking Andy Kim, who is running to replace him in November. But the WORST that he can do is criticize that Andy Kim has not yet bought a house for his family in this area of NJ where he grew up? Kim is busy campaigning and is currently renting since his return to Marlton from DC, where he worked for President Obama. TMac’s only other attack is that Kim repaid a tax credit that he incorrectly received on his DC house after he moved back to Marlton.

Andy Kim is dedicated to helping the average citizens of Burlington and Ocean Counties. He will fight for our health care, our financial well-being and preserving entitlements that we paid into, and gun reform safety. He will not be bought by corporate SuperPacs and NRA money, and he will not be another absent and heartless TMac!
