On August 18th, Congressman Andy Kim held a town hall with vaccine expert Dr. Michael Kinch. Congressman Kim spoke knowledgably and confidently about the vaccine process and the science behind it. He had clearly done his homework, impressing even his guest.
Congressman Kim is not intimidated by complexity, a quality much needed in a representative. Most problems our country faces are complex. To truly understand them and see a way to a solution requires sifting through mountains of often technical data, listening to experts in the fields you are researching, and then working with others to find a solution to the problem at hand.
Congressman Kim has shown time and time again that he is not afraid of the hard work involved in research, he has the intelligence to understand how complicated pieces fit together, and he has the heart to put politics aside to find solutions that are fact-based and helpful to the people of his district. Congressman Kim has the ability to explain complex problems in a way his constituents can understand, the willingness to have open and frank discussions with his constituents on difficult issues, and the humility to accept that he is a public servant working for us, not for special interests.
In this complex and unprecedented time in our country, I could not be more grateful to have a cool-headed, intelligent, and compassionate man as my Representative. Now more than ever, we need Congressman Andy Kim to fight for us in Congress.
