A letter to the editor by Laura Beverage of Medford, NJ

The overwhelming majority of this country wants gun reform, yet mass shooting after mass shooting continues, over and over and over again, yesterday again in the state of Texas, where astonishingly, looser gun regulations go into effect today.

Beto O’Rourke drops the F-bomb on Jake Tapper’s “State of the Union” this morning and the censors…. wisely in my opinion….let it fly. As a pastor that O’Rourke quoted this morning said, what’s profane is not a curse word but the fact we have impotent GOP politicians who continue to worship at the altar of the NRA in some misguided belief that that is how they will keep their seats.

We need to show them that the real power to keep their jobs is not in the hands of an odious and self-serving organization but in our, the voters’ hands. we, the people who pay their salaries are of a common mind about this, and we the people must hold them all accountable with an unmistakable message in both our local elections in 2019 and with a resounding thumping in 2020, making known that when the Dems control all three branches of the government, it is the will of the people, not a sliver of society, that will be done.
