On June 12th, the Burlington County Times said that Democratic Congressional District 3 candidate Andy Kim’s background “continues to be a battleground”.
No. No, it doesn’t. In fact, it’s the complete opposite.
Tom MacArthur purposely mischaracterized and belittled Kim’s service to our country. Then a retired Marine Colonel and a Deputy Secretary of State with intimate knowledge of Kim’s role provided facts that proved MacArthur completely wrong.
Did MacArthur then do the honorable thing and admit he was wrong? Of course not. Instead, his campaign insinuated that the Deputy Secretary of State could not be trusted, and also decided to speak for 4-star General John R. Allen with absolutely no evidence that the General felt the way they hinted he did.
MacArthur is once again trying to move the goalposts because his untruths have been exposed. Since he cannot stand on his own appalling voting record, smear tactics and innuendo is all he has.
So, let’s be perfectly clear. Mr. Kim’s credentials are no longer in question – and the media would serve their readers better if they stopped pretending they were and called out MacArthur’s lies and dirty tactics instead.
