OPINION: GOP Tax Bill Bites NJ Harder Than Any Other State. With MacArthur’s approval.

It’s official. The GOP tax bill, supported by Congressman Tom MacArthur, hits New Jersey harder than any other state.

Why in the world did our own Congress member support it? And it’s not just that he voted for it, he passionately supported it. Even other New Jersey Republican Congress members voted against it. But not our guy. It’s infuriating.

Did you know that New Jersey is the only state where the percentage of us facing a tax hike in 2018 is in the double digits? That tax bill was a direct attack on New Jersey.

Did you also know that right after he voted for the tax bill, MacArthur got a $5,400 contribution from Mike Pence’s Great American Committee PAC? It’s just like when MacArthur voted to decimate our healthcare options and then got a big fancy fundraiser from Trump.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we had a member of Congress who looked after us instead of himself? Something must change. MacArthur must go.
