OPINION: Congressman MacArthur, please protect Mueller investigation

Letter to the editor, by: Jill Anthony of Mount Laurel

Dear Editor:

I am an American citizen and I live in fear every day. I live in fear because I am watching a government in chaos working to destroy our environment, our civil rights, our health care protections, our right to be protected from from malfeasance by financial companies, and the right to live in a country in which my government is run without interference from foreign entities.

I live in fear because my representative, Congressman Tom MacArthur, has done nothing to protect his constituents from these threats. The Congressman has been a strong advocate for Donald Trump and has supported every agenda item that has been proposed.

The Congressman can redeem himself by supporting HR 3771 co-sponsored by Congressman Walter Jones and John Conyers. This bill prevents Donald Trump from being able to fire Robert Mueller before his investigative work is finished. Let there be a thorough investigation so that we can determine whether there has been collusion with a foreign entity. Let there be a thorough investigation so we can rebuild our trust in our democracy. Let there be a thorough investigation so we can feel safe in our country and believe in our government once again.

Congressman MacArthur, you have not listened to your constituents about health care or tax policy or gun control. Please listen to your constituents now and protect Robert Mueller’s investigation.
